BWI (Black and White Investments, LLC) is a Minority-owned real estate development and construction services business that provides a reliable, single source of contact to bring professional resources to mixed-use, multi-family development and construction management services. BWI was founded in 2005 by Gary Hobbs – one of America’s most successful real estate developers for special needs populations – and is headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana.
BWI is constructing Sweet Galilee at the Wigwam as an assisted living facility with 47 studio units providing independence, personal care, and supportive services to low-income seniors.
Certified staff will be on site 24 hours a day and other amenities include: transportation, a fitness room, a beauty salon, dining facilities, and more. Eligibility for residency is restricted to seniors age 62 or older who live at 60% of the area median income.
Social impact measurements will include physical, mental, and spiritual health improvements by the residents. Also, impact on the local economy and surrounding neighborhood will be measured. The facility is part of the redevelopment of the historic Wigwam athletic complex in Anderson, Indiana (pictured below) which has become very distressed.
